Victor Marks has had the privilege and
honor of growing up in North Carolina. No matter how far he roams this
will always be his home. North Carolina is blessed with the mountains, ocean
vistas, and the most hospitable people you could hope to meet.
Victor Marks attended school in Wake County Public Schools, from
Emma Conn Elementary to J.W. Ligon Middle, and graduated from W.G.
Enloe in 1993.
A quick summary:
- Shirley Baram became his bride in 2000.
- He has been privileged to teach computer science in grades 5 through
12 at Woods Charter School.
While there, he developed curricula for typing and researching on
the internet, iMovie production, project planning using WBS and Gantt charts,
and beginning Linux system administration and networking.
- His biggest joy
was attaining the rank of Eagle Scout (the Boy Scouts' highest award)
while a member of BS Troop 214 of Raleigh NC.
- Faith has never taken a back seat in his life. He proudly taught sunday
school at Temple Beth Or, and was a youth group advisor there.
- He was an ambassador, without portfolio, for the United States, traveling
to Israel. There he taught English to eager students at Ayalon school in
Tel-Aviv Israel.
- He was a technical consultant and freelance author for IBM DeveloperWorks,
lowendmac.com, lowendpc.com, MacNN Reviews, and authored product manuals
for IBM WebSphere Transcoding Publisher and IBM Host Publisher.
- He earned his Bachelors of Musical Arts (B.M.A.) at DePauw University,
and traveled to Israel and England where he did post-Graduate work in Applied
Linguistics, through Liverpool University in Liverpool, England. Applied
Linguistics is the study of language acquisition and generation.
